Well if you think about it we dont really perceive the world as it really is at all. Science shows us that we only see a tiny part of the light that is all around us, we cant see really tiny objects either, we only hear part of the sounds around us as well.
Your brain takes all the data it receives and creates an imaginary model of the world based on prior experience, thats it, its just a model that you have made and most of the time gives you an excellent way to understand and predict what will happen. Its more than just physical data too, you model people, pets, organisations, everything.
Accepted scientific theories, are also just models too, most scientists would agree they dont actually know for sure whats there, but the theories and laws they have created are excelent predictive tools, and as such are almost indestinguishable from reality, except for the bits they didnt manage to properly model yet.
So we are all locked inside our own matrix, its so all-encompassing we cant even see, hear or touch it. Sometimes the model we have needs a slight correction, this can happen wihout us noticing, other times we are shocked as our model is totally wrong (your lover cheats on you!).
So maybe your shower experience, was a tantilizing glimpse of perception, you saw behind your own magic curtain for a moment...
wow mind blown. You definitely took it on a whole new level.
Its like when you are dreaming, and you let go of a ball and instead of it falling to the ground, it flies away, and then you fly after it; you dont KNOW its a dream at the time, to you this is really happening and you are amazed and confused, because your dream is just inside your matrix too. Then you wake up and if you remember the dream, you realise and are relieved that your model wasnt totally wrong, and that if you drop a ball, you wont be able to fly... or will you...? Maybe this is a dream, he he :)
mad interesting. I do fly in my dreams. your dream is inside your matrix. that is a next level. like inception.
Ugh that film gave me a headache!
Ya it was mad complicated.
