I am curious to hear the opinions of the Steemit community on the question of whether a rogue element within the US government was involved with the destruction of the 3 buildings during the 9/11 attacks.
I suspect that the Steemit community is well educated on this topic and not easily fooled but let us see...
If there is a significant response to this post I will write a followup post showing a graph of the responses detailing the numbers for, against and undecided on this question. I will also include some of the best comments in my follow up post.
If there is not a significant response to this post I know I will need to address this topic in further posts.
I do not intend this post to be a representation of my opinions but I will list a few facts to get the ball rolling.
Cui bono - For Whose Benefit?
Cui bono is a latin phrase literally meaning "for whose benefit". It is still in use today as a key forensic question for crime and identifies the motives for those crimes. Many great leaders have recognised this as a key understanding for who instigates many of the actions we see in our world.
In the case of 9/11 there have clearly been those who benefited and those who lost!
Who Benefited From 9/11?
There were clearly those who profited in a spectacular manner from the destruction of buildings World Trade Centre 1, 2 and 7. Here are just a few people who can clearly be identified to have profited:
- Larry Silverstein and Frank Lowe who profited from insurance policies on their newly purchased towers - the final settlement was over 4.5 billion dollars, the largest in history
- Halliburton who profited from the subsequent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - the vice president of the US, Dick Chaney was their former CEO
- Those involved with the heroin industry which was waining under the Taliban but brought back to life in a spectacular way after the American occupation of Afghanistan
- The massive American military industrial complex
- The NSA through increased funding and control of digital data
- The media industry who profited by repeatedly selling the fear narrative
- The stock traders who were able to push their fraudulent transactions through in the mayhem of 9/11
- The stock traders who were under investigation for fraud and had all the records of that investigation destroyed in building 7
- Those companies who placed major put option stock bets on the future drop in share prices for American Airlines and others
In truth the list of those who profited is much longer. I just want to make the point that there are major corporate interests who profited enormously from 9/11!
Who Lost From 9/11?
Although the profits created by 9/11 were enormous for the the few people who benefited, the number of people who have lost from 9/11 is much larger:
- The people and families of those who were in the towers when they collapsed
- The first responders and families of those who died from illnesses after 9/11
- The people of the nation of Afghanistan - 34.66 million
- The people of the nation of Iraq - 37.2 million
- The people of the nation of Libya - 18.43 million
- The thousands of young American and coalition soldiers who died during combat
- The entire population of the Internet who now suffer significant oversight by the NSA
- The American tax payer
Again this is not an exhaustive list. I just wanted to highlight some of the obvious losers and I would love to hear what you think!
What Does This Add Up To?
The official narrative given to the world about who was responsible for 9/11 was that Osama Bin Laden planned the attacks from a cave in Afghanistan. The attacks were carried out by 19 terrorists with box cutters. This narrative has started to disintegrate over the years.
The official 9/11 commission report had 28 pages redacted and failed to even mention the third building that collapsed during the attacks - World Trade Centre 7. The NIST report explaining the collapse of the buildings in nearly free fall speed did not make any sense and again failed to address key points such as numerous eye witness reports of explosions within the buildings.
I can understand that to accept that the government of the US was complicit or actively involved in the murder of thousands of its citizens is appalling and forces us to reassess our entire perspective of the world we live in. To extrapolate that concept to include the enormous profits made from the 'war on terror' and the suffering of millions of people around the world is simply heart braking.
I would love to hear your opinions so I can extrapolate the sentiments of Steemians into a graph to understand how we feel about this topic here on Steemit! =)

True dat! In 2006, I met a director at the Swiss Re reinsurance company who actually made a killing on the stock market on 9/11 and the days to follow. A few of his buddies did the same. He got inside info that specifically said to bet against airline stocks.
When he talked to me about it, he saw nothing strange in that and felt no connection between himself and the perpetrators. He thought that his buddy that was doing him a favor with this tip maybe had someone in the intelligence community, who "may have heard chatter".

It seems to me there are two types of people. Some who have not or will not look into what actually happened that day, and they believe the official story. The rest have actually looked into it and become educated, and everyone who has done so knows it's a lie. It makes sense to me that anyone posting here has looked into it, and so there is 100% agreement.

Personally, I think we may never know for sure. There are certainly people who were inside the US government that stood to gain. Then there's Israel and Saudi Arabia as well. Probably, it was a joint effort by rogue groups inside multiple intelligence agencies from the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia.

I am no expert on 9/11 conspiracy theories but I find it hard to believe that the US government could orchestrate this entire event (that I am sure would have involved a very large network of people) and keep it a complete secret. Not a single member of the government leaked it? Even at the risk of losing their own life? I don't know of any instances, at least. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think cui bono is misapplied here.
In my country there was a spate of earthquakes. If I apply cui bono, without any other evidence, then I'm correct to conclude that the earthquakes were caused by politicians, the construction industry, and the insurance providers.
I guess my point is that the ability of cui bono to indicate very much at all is very diluted as the size of the event and the number of the accused increases.
Planes have hit sky scrappers before and since 9/11 and only twice in history did a plane bring one down and it happened the same day and we are suppose to believe that Yeah and I have an Million Square Mile Island for sale with perfect weather all the time and riches every where....

The best part is the 3rd tower which wasn't hit by any airplane but felt at quasi free fall speed.
That day I had no clue what was going on, the story didn't break into the kids programming on PBS. My radio in my car didn't work at the time either, and we went over to my best friends house and walked in while the first town fell and the first words out of my mouth was I didn't know they were demolishing the World Trade Center (had no clue at that point that planes hit them) when she told me what happened. I said no way those planes made those buildings fall like that. I stand by that still today.
Did you know that the engine found was not from any of the planes claimed to have hit the building?
And why did Melvin Bush order the bomb sniffing dogs off the WT center property that had patrolled the area since the 1993 attack of the parking garage? 3 weeks before 9/11. Seems suspicious to me personally but the government has said nothing to see here move along. Sad that many people buy the official story
Actually, every tower with a WTC prefix was destroyed or significantly dustified on that day - most people don't know that!
In addition, Bankers Trust building, which had a hole in its WTC facing side, not significantly caused by falling debris, had to be disassembled after lengthy attempts to repair it. This was due to Charge Clusters (Kenneth R. Shoulders) used to effect the dustification of the buildings, had contaminated Bankers Trust - when they tried to add new steels - they rapidly rusted (since the charge clusters are far more electronegative than the normal electrons they replace leading to rapid oxidation).

From what I pieced together I thought that US and Saudi Arabia had a secret agreement to put forth an agenda. Iraq was an enemy to the Saudis. Thus it was awfully convenient that 15 of the radicals were from Saudi Arabia and Iraq was the apprehended culprit. Not to mention Trumps recent country ban doesn't ban travel between Saudi Arabia and US but other countries less active in extremism are on the list. Just look at building #7, it was 48 stories tall roughly and fell in 8 seconds in its own footprint. And woops they forgot to mention building 7 in the investigation. Great post jockey, keep it up :)

Of course US / Deep State were involved in and executed the whole 911 perfectly and they knew it would instill fear in American citizens which would guarantee their free pass to destroy and do as please in Iraq and Afghanistan. One thing people forget that Israel was the master architect of all this because they would end up occupying more Palestinian land and expanding their settlements while the burning of the Middle East continues by US and allies. Most of us know they were easily couple of hundreds if not thousands working in both the world trade centers who magically didn't show up to work or being in that area on the day of 911. Yes I do believe that USA had set this up. For me this isn’t even conspiracy. I haven’t been there so I can never know whether it is true, or even whether the reports from the witnesses are valid. It all makes sense to me, but nothing really changes. I didn’t want to have anything to do with USA and after this incident everything remains the same.

Trying to figure out if any one person, or small group of individuals was directly responsible is going to be next to impossible. Exactly like the JFK assassination, we know something other than the "official" story actually happened but we still can't prove it 50+ years later. I find this topic fascinating and I simply don't know what to believe. I've listened to people and documentaries about it. A lot of them seem really legit. This writing has some great points. But something inside of me just can't get past the idea that there is such evil in this world, even worse than what I thought happened that day.

Basically, I mean, the Navy had touch screens back in the 90s or maybe earlier I forgot. Definitely inside job. I admit I haven't read much about the financial implications, but my convinction comes from the military and political developments. Immediately after 9/11, neo-cons like Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz were calling for action against Iraq. This didn't work out at the time, as the obvious target for retaliation was Afghanistan. It took the neo-cons 18 months of bullying and blatant lies to convince the world of the need to remove Saddam. I wonder if anybody even remembers the efforts made by neo-cons to establish a link between Al-Qaeda and the Iraqi regime, that would justify an attack on Iraq?

There's already been many points brought up by y'all so far. I'm of the opinion that there were and are dark forces plaguing most of our governmental institutions at the highest levels. Going back to the Kennedy years, the warnings from that man were very prophetic, as were the warnings of Eisenhower. I also believe this wasn't done by the famous mister bin laden, he probably had nothing to do with this.. when you look at the video clip of the buildings crashing it completely looks the same like a controlled demolution.. that in its own is a very strange thing. "These buildings are designed to withstand the direct impact of an aircraft"

This post was well written and researched, but with all due respect I would have felt alot better about it if post payout was declined. If the goal is to get an opinion from the community on this serious matter, then compensation from it feels a little off.

I definitely believe 911 was planned and executed by deep state. The specifics of the attack will be made public one day, probably after all the psychos involved are dead. But right now I think we should follow the lead of AE911truth.org, among others, and concentrate on just convincing more and more people that the official narrative is BS.
My current belief is that planes did indeed hit WTC 1 and 2, and the Pentagon, but they were under remote control. Saudi Arabia provided the patsies (hijackers), and Israel provided the demo experts. Command and control of the operation was probably lead by Cheney and Rumsfeld. President Bush, I believe, was not directly involved, but did know about the operation. I also believe that the 1993 bombing of the WTC was in fact deep state's first attempt to bring it down.

Where do you start..I guess when so many things just don't add up you gotta ask the questions and that in the case of 9/11 leads to more things that don't add up and the trail of events.. Look at recent attacks and all that has happened since it has allowed a naritive and also in london things don't add up.. like why the ctv around the goverment area was not working and the only pictues are no proof at all.. all could of been staged.. 9/11 did happen don't doubt that as it did, two buildings cannot just vanish but the fact remains only 2 high rise building ever fell down after a fire and that was the twin towers. theres other stuff but hey many can look into it and see explosions as it falls and debris going upwards.
