I built my own.

Whats inside it?

Corsair 16 GB Ram, Western Digital 4 TB hard drive, Cooler master V8 GTS, Asus motherboard, Radion GPU, I7CPU, That's all the details I remember I built it over 4 years ago.

Its a beautiful machine. Have you had any issues with it. I think ASUS motherboards are the best bang for the buck.

I prefer AMD over intel they are just faster. You have to keep them cool but who cares I want FAST!

The newest motherboards have M.2 pcie hard drives they are smoking cool. It speeds up everything. They actually mount to the motherboard. On that Threadripper @lovenfreedom has there is one of them and a 1+0 raid . It boots windows or Linux in under 15 seconds.

I wanted a AMD. But the motherboard was not compatible with it for some reason. The only issue was that Windows 10 messed up my computer a few times. I have to reinstall everything. I don't like the CD drive the software sucks. Other than that it's been great. When I first got my PC together it installed windows 8 in three munutes. After windows 10 came along I've had issues.
M.2 PCIE? Never heard of it. I guess I'm behind on the newest tech.
I am no means a computer expert. I Got the parts and watched a youtube video on how to put a computer together. I think it was a Newegg video.
It took me a while to figure out how to put it together so that tells you that I'm not an expert.

Its cool that you tried most people would not even attempt to do something like that! Now you know you can do it.

Every motherboard has a certain socket and that socket usually only fits one or two processor styles from one manufacturer.
Actually if your going to build another one first decide on the processor you want then read the requirements and build from there.
Its really not that big of a deal if you can read and comprehend you got it!

I didn't build @lovenfreedoms threadripper because mining has made GPUs so expensive I could not build it myself cheaper then Cyberpowerpc could build it for me. She has 2 -12 GB GPUs SLI it saved me 1500 dollars and my time to let Cyberpowerpc build it.

Yeah, I heard GPU prices are through the roof because of mining. I probably won't ever build another computer again lol. It hurts my brain!

@cosmiccrimes That pc you build is a beast, awsome.
using it for gaming purposes?
Is it cheaper to build it yourself? or did you do it so you could upgrade little by little?
I tried it once but once I replaced cpu and gpu I needed more watts and after i replaced the powersource for a better one, it got overheated so I needed a new cooler. Never doing that again!

I built this computer four years ago. It took me six months to get all the parts. At the time it was cheaper to build your own computer. I spent 2 or 3 G altogether. If I bought a computer with the same specs it would be 5 g easy. I dont have a real high paying job or anythging. What I did was sold a bunch of stuff on ebay to help. worked an extra shift. Anyway because of Crypto mining the prices of GPU has shot up!
I did play some games, but I haven't in quite a while.
Well, about your overheating problem. What you should have done is take all the parts you wanted and see how much watts all those components needed. Then you can see how many watt powerblock you need. Now I use the Cooler master system V8 they are awsome, but hard to install on certain motherboards.

I know now, but that was way back in like 2005 and I was like 15 years old and eager so when I did that I didnt bother to google upfront, just bought it and tried to build them in. after a few long hours and eventually (with some help) I got it in only to find out I had to buy more stuff haha.
I can do it now, but I dont value a fast computer anymore. all I do is internet (steemit streaming and sometimes some low spec games).
V8 sounds like a really fast cooler haha (get it? as in v8 engine).
have a nice weekend mate!

Sounds like you were overly enthusiastic and rushed in too fast.
And yes I will have a good weekend. And you have one as well.

It's been a month since I got this same carbide spec case with all the gaming goodies like the gtx 1080, HDD/SSD combo, 12 gigs of ram, etc.
02.jpg
(got the picture from google but it looks exactly the same as mine with tempered glass and red lights)

I got it just to stream games on Dlive since my laptop couldn't keep up anymore. It's been working wonders for my gaming channel though, pumping out great looking gameplay on the daily! haha it was def worth the price too since Fortnite isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so more content for me to stream :P

btw, has @berniesanders ever tried Fortnite?

I have not, nice PC!

$1500 always looks nice in any shape or form :P lol

Just watching the game is interesting if the right players get together. Just wondering if there would be any interest to watch some competitive tournament hosted on Steemit? like would you personally care enough to watch people play Fortnite for Steem/SBD prizes?

I have a computer. Dell corei3 5th generetion.
And I use another one HP core i5 6th generetion.

17 inches of macbook pro from 2009 baby 😎

I've still got my 15" 2007 macbook pro, running Snow Leopard! I had the hard drive changed to an ssd about 3 years ago, and something got corrupted and it needs the Snow Leopard disk to fix it, only the disk and the ssd drive don't see each other. But it still works very well anyway! I used it that way for about two years before getting a 2016 version of the 2012 macbook pro.

Mac's are da bomb!

Haha, dope. Ya i swapped the drive and added ram a few yrs bk too!.

Gotta say wks pretty well still. Definitely got my $ worth.

Can’t imagine a windows machine performing as well

Oh for sure not. It would be so bugged out and practically unusable haha

I also use a 2007 MacBook Pro with an SSD and it's stunning still....It's used for Linux and Win7 and is absolutely rock solid, I hate Apple OSs !

I’ve been thinking about putting Linux on it. Never dealt with Linus before and am curious to check it out.

Damn, that's a dinosaur.

Lol, i know... i’m gona hold onto it as long as i can, need to find a dinosaur of a battery tho now! It i unplug it for 30 min she dies 😂

Can buy non-original batteries and chargers quite cheaply here in Thailand....the air fare sucks though ;-)

Lol. Ya i bet on both of those accounts. Although i’d really like to make it out there!

HP Laptop and what kind do you have

We are seeing you today a lot more than usual

seems like you are in a good mood today

I've got a custom, water cooled desktop that I use as well as a MBP.

Forget about the question I asked ;)

Whats MBP?

An old i3 that isn’t quite working properly. So mostly I use my smartphone like I do now iPhone 6s.

I am a poor guy. I have a desktop computer which I had bought from the second hand market in 2012. It is old and second hand but still working.

I have Crosshair motherboard with AMD 5000x 2 processor in a Beautiful Dragon case I built 8 years ago.

Its still faster than almost everything you can buy. I have so many fans on it to keep it cool we call it the vacuum. It actually warms the entire room about 10 degrees.
The Threadripper I had cyberpowerpc build the wife is a dream machine.

I originally built the crosshair pc to mine bitcoin in 2009.

a 5 year old HP notebook i7 that still runs real good, and a surface pro 3 i5

at work I get all the inside scoop of everything going on in the tech space.

Its amazing what these masters of industry are doing.

I have a threadripper hubby had it custom built for me. Watercooled too.

Must have a desktop for everyday use... Can I see your setup?

I like your case.

Yours looked really cool too!

That one has AMD Ryzen Threadripper. With 16 cores, 32 threads, 64 PCIe® Gen3 lanes, 1 TB SSD RAID 0, NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1080, one 512GB Samsung M.2 SSD PCIE NVME, Kingston DDR4 RAM. MoBo is GIGABYTE AORUS X399

Boots really fast. So far nothing slows it down. Really great for rendering videos.

Sounds awesome. I'm not a computer expert, I winged it making mine. I wished I have a good graphics card like yours. I should have saved a little more for a better GPU.

Threadripper is sick!

Thanks, I like it. It rips :)
