There are some painful things that you have avoided for a long time. You are hiding them because you don't want to see. It's too painful.
In order to heal, you must be willing to see the truth. The truth will set you free. Sometimes that truth is unpleasant and bitter. It's a tough pill to swallow. You can feel the pain and anxiety in the pit of your stomach but you may not be sure what is causing it. It's time to look deeper. Are you willing to see what it is that is so painful that you want to bury it deeper and run away from it? Are you willing to set yourself free?
It could be a deep personal or family secret, an attitude you haven't admitted, pride or fear that exists in your heart. It is the truth because it is a reality for you right now. It is not truth because it is not lasting or eternal. It can be healed and changed and forgiven. You must see where you are now in order to change direction. Admitting and recognizing the source of the pain is the hardest and first step to changing. It is a relief to put it all out on the table so that you can see it objectively, without judgement.
Today, ask yourself what you are hiding that is so painful to see. Confess it, even if only to yourself and God. "Be the change, you wish to see in the world." Gandhi
