I remember reading a post and ofcourse associated with a picture of a mother and son on board a train, very quickly the post sought to answer the question of how the young mother managed to condition the mind of the little child of not more than 2yrs to read alot and especially along with the Mum. The answer was quick and straight,
CHILDREN DON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL THEM, THEY DO WHAT YOU DO
This brings me to the subject "Imitation"
Directly or indirectly what many of us has turned out to become (good or bad)is linked closely to imitation ( whether we call it more classic names or brand it as it pleases us, such as Mentor or role model).
Following the ways and manner in which a certain person does a thing or not is simply called IMITATION or COPYING.
It is an advanced behaviour whereby an individual observes and replicates anothers behaviour. It is a form of social learning leading to development of traditions and ultimately culture. It allows for information transfer (behavious and customs etc)between the now generation either passively or actively and the down or future generation.
NOTE: It is usually exclusive of the genetic process or inheritance.
It is however unfortunate that instead of lots of folks to concentrate on building their own lives they have left it to the care and growth of imitation and alot of it a very fake area of focus . People are living off unholy competition fueld largely by the spirit of imitation. The quest to out do each other in compromising manners etc.
For example; the motion pictures of our celebrities has pushed alot of young folks into living false lifestyles meanwhile the so -called celebrities are trying to keep up appearances of what they have borrowed to look like on Tvs and movies.
Do not forget that each and everyone of us here on planet earth are living a borrowed life, why complicate issues. Live a simple life devoid of comparism/unholy competition and consequently imitation that makes you fall off the cliff all in a bid to live the big life.
