Very opportune and interesting is the initiative proposed by the friend @theycallmedan, in this opportunity it is about asking a question to any Hiver. This time I want to take advantage of it to ask some questions to my friends @dmilliz and @Shanibeer who are in charge of the #ReggaeJahm community.

The #Reggaejahm community since its beginnings has been one of the communities that has maintained a constant communication with its members, however in the last days, I have not been able to see some information regarding the projection of the community in Hive. Therefore, it seems to me the ideal moment to address the friend @dmilliz and ask him some questions, taking advantage of the permission granted by the initiative @theycallmedad
The questions for them are as follows:
- What are the expectations in the community #Reggaejahm?
I would like to know if there is a plan to move forward with a particular token or if it will only be focused on the Hive
- What will happen to the Jahm token?
The Jahm token has been a strong element in Steem-Engine, I would like to know if there are strategies to keep it as the main valuation objective within the #ReggaeJahm community, or if it will be left aside.
The #Reggaejahm movement must continue, cling to life and continue to do justice among those who promote it, so is reggae, an instrument of society that seeks to claim without violence its right to growth, showing the talent that lives in it. Jahm is powerful and the community should try to recover its value, I know it is difficult because of the pandemic but this is time for decisions and we must act.
Hello @jadnven,
I believe most of these questions were answered in the post that the @reggaejahm account published when the community was created.
You feel it is the time to act: do you have any proposals? I would be interested in hearing your ideas. Would you like to add your post to the reggaejahm community so that others can take part in the discussion. Many thanks.
At this moment I don't have the tools to investigate about the possible alliances that can be made with social networks, online advertising channels, video channels, record labels, artist promotion , but there must be a way to open the way to #Jahm. However, I know it's not easy, but something has to be tried friend @shenibeer.
The friend @dmilliz, gave the guidelines to follow for now, I think it's good that the community seeks to keep the space for Caribbean music active. I will be supporting as much as possible to help it grow.
That's good to know. Look forward to seeing you there 🙂
Good questions. I’m glad Dan gave you the “permission”
The truth is, on reggaesteem there was too much focus on the token and speculation and less on community.
Right now we want to focus on what really matters and that is the community. We want a genuine community for reggae and Caribbean content lovers and creators , supporting them, on-boarding them and building up slowly but truly. That is Reggajahm. Sorry there isn’t much communication for your taste; no posts of the week, and contest and all that good stuff at the moment. But it’s good to have a break from the norm and just let the community breathe and the content be the king.
Our major use case, tourism doesn’t exist at the moment but we are thinking and looking out for opportunities to play our part in helping tourism on the island and in the Caribbean. There can’t be a plan for the token until we see how this situation pans out or we create a new and unique use case ( feel free to share your ideas ). Our plan at the moment is to build our hive power as that will enable is to support the community with the mother token, hive. Once we have a clear path and we see what HMTs have to offer vs Hive engine tokens, then we will take action on that side of things. If there is an airdrop, whatever jahm tokens you have on steem-engine will be reflected.
For now the token lives on steem, yes we could bring it over to hive but it would only be a distraction without a unique use case, attracting people who only care about a token and how much value it is going to be worth and not much about the culture or building a community. The value of the jahm token is at its right value at the moment. It’s natural value in the scheme of things.
Everything else you need to know is in the post Shanibeer linked in her comment.
That's the kind of answer I was looking for, my friend, something clear and sincere. For my part, I will continue to support the community and value our Caribbean culture. I have had many problems connecting to the Internet so it has been difficult for me to publish continuously. I had gotten used to seeing #Jahm floating high, I'm not looking to be a millionaire, but the higher his value, the stronger the benefit the community gives to others. Soon I will be recreating publications to value the quality content of those who publish for #Reggaejahm.
My respects brother.
