Retail Stores That Are Slowly Coming To An End

in #community7 years ago (edited)

A number of chains is finally taking its approach of throwing in the towel.  Now that shopping online is beginning to get higher in demand, many retail stores are no longer in business like they used to.  Shopping online makes it much more convenient for shoppers who prefer to shop online and for those who may find more of a variety, compared to what is sold in retail stores.  Plus, online stores provide more competitive rates compared to majority of the retail stores.  The internet is decreasing the sales of retail stores constantly to the point where our main retail stores are going out of business.

These are the main retail stores that are going out of business, if they have not already done so:

1. J.C Penny

J.C Penny decided that it needs reduce in size, which has been decreasing in size since late February.  Apparently, they closed approximately 130-140 locations within that time.

2. Sears Holdings

Sears Holdings continues to decrease, as it is also the owner of Sears and K-Mart, which has too been decreasing massively.

3. BCBG

4.  Macy's

I personally haven't yet heard or seen any of these stores close but apparently Macy's too will be decreasing in size.

5. American Apparel

American Apparel have been struggling for some time now with keeping up with sales.  It possibly may be because of all the other competitive retail stores, such as Love Culture and Forever 21, which all has similar styles and prices.

It's very unfortunate that these specific stores are slowly going out of business in most areas.  It is especially unfortunate for those who still depend on these stores to do majority of their shopping.  Many people still enjoy going out and taking a stroll at shopping stores, which is also their way of spending family time.  Although I do not shop at retail stores as much and prefer to shop mainly online, but for those who still enjoy it, it is unfair to get rid of these stores.  Although the internet and technology is getting more advanced each day, there are some individuals who don't own a computer or don't use it as much.  When all these retail stores disappear, this is basically society's way of forcing individuals to shop online.

How do you feel about this?  Does this make you feel any type of way?  How do you prefer to do majority of your shopping? Which is more convenient for you?

I never really buy anything online. I don't understand why anyone would want to. If you can't see something in person or try on an article of clothing why bother?

That too is correct as well. It's like a guessing game when you purchase something online. You never know what to expect when the package shows up on your doorstep. Only reason why I enjoy shopping online is because there are certain items that I can find online that I won't normally find in stores but anything general that I can purchase in store, I'll normally buy it in store.
