Strength In Diversity

Remember why i always call you brother
Because in the midst of our struggles and wander
We always pull in one direction together
With the sole aim of making our nation better
Ethnic, tribe and locations sometimes threaten to scatter
And most times it appears we are always bitter
But the major goal of making our nation great again linger

We are people with different faces
We even come from different places
But we are not without origin or traces
Yes we are people of different races
We mostly think different and hold our aces
We also go at different paces
We are broken with many braces
We even tie differently our shoe laces
But we all ache to see our nation go back to its former graces

There is strength in our diversity
That is why we see things differently amidst calamity
We are not people the world has to pity
Because even the world knows we are happy people
We don't have much but we have each other
We don't agree on everything but we want a common goal
We ache silently and bruise openly
But all we have is still ourselves

They call us broken but they don't know
A broken mirror reflects more through its tiny pieces while shattered
Even to everywhere it has been scattered
We have marks and bruises but we call it patterned
Because it reminds us of where we come from
So we can know how far we have come to throw it away in a moment

When a defining moment comes
A word from the wise says
Define the moment or it defines you
We need to pull in the right direction
And put sentiments and selfishness away
We need to make our numbers count
A broom has resistance to being broken when together than when single
Even with our diversity we mingle
We should pull together and not single
We should call for unity even with our jingle
Animals even have coordination in the jungle
Yes, we see things always from another angle

Do we still believe in one another?
Do we still know that blood is thicker?
When we scream amidst struggle would you still hear the call?
Personal ambitions has eaten deep into us as a nation
Everyone is busy manning his own station
Fighting for our selfish interest than the common goal
We can still turn it around
When with renewed minds we try to surround

Diversity is the art of thinking independently together
In diversity there is strength and beauty
With our so unequal finger
We can put an end to hunger
Shunning away every bit of anger
Which is just a letter short from danger
All we need is to think about a better future
A world where in the midst of our differences
We can pull together to mend everyone's fences

In life we don't always have to agree on the same thing but we need to pull in the same direction.

We need to pull towards a common goal. We need one another. No one can make it out here all alone.

There is strength in diversity.
