Coming Together To Help Each Other - Thriving in Community #5

in #community5 years ago

It's always an interesting experience living with other people.
Most of us would agree that you don't really know someone until
you are with them under the same roof --
their strengths and weaknesses,
values, and lack there of,
habits, desires,
and internal joys and strifes.
We even get to see ourselves through the mirrors of
others who inhabit our space--quite an eyeopener for sure.

I have found that people can pretend to be a certain way,
even to themselves, for a good period of time,
putting their best foot forward to live harmoniously with each other,
and get along.

Some people truly are easy to be around and share intimate space with 24/7,
others not so much.

Our likenesses and differences show up more potently when we're together
with no place to hide, and where we are truly seen by those around us..

It's easy to tell who is in alignment with well-being and who is not,
especially when it comes to communal living, as the mess or organization
of our true inner workings always shows up in the space.

We've been re-doing some of our spaces at the @gardenofeden,
and the garage is one of those places.

We have allowed people access to our tools,
and have watched over time the dysfunction emerge.

Though we have lots of ways to organize all our things big and small,
shelves, bins, compartments and such,
when people don't truly care, they just set things down on the bench
and then things begin to pile up.
As within, so without!

A few keeping track of and organizing the many can make for a full-time job,
so staying on top of a group of people who have different levels of comfort
in their space and different ways of expressing themselves
can take some real effort.

In reorganizing, I have found inside our "organized" cubbies,
some not at all organized contents, which obviously happened by
those who had knocked over the cubbies, and shoved everything
back into any cubby just to cover up their mess.

Caring really is a key element of keeping a space organized,
and living harmoniously in community.

So taking on this project...again... is a big one
as there are so many small items to manage--
many of which we were unsure of their purpose.

CALLING ALL TOOL NERDS...WTF IS THIS? #20

We now have some people with true organizational skills
who care about their environment and are willing to invest themselves
in putting things back into pristine order.

We're using these great organizing cubbies that were once
housed at a hardware store.
They were going to be discarded in the landfill,
but we have put them to great use.

We've sorted and sorted and sorted and are filling them...again...
with lots of little ditties, making finding what we want right at our fingertips.

We have done this many times between guest inhabitants
who have stayed at the @gardenofeden,
but feel that this time it will remain organized
because all of us who are here now truly care.

We are a crew of dedicated and focused people. We share a majority of similarities of what is important to us, and give our time and energy into creating a life that serves us all and the world around us.  As a  loving and supportive group we have honed our importance to upgrade and take forward motion, and let go of the difficulties that can sometimes arise from living with those who are simply looking for a handout, are lost, who don't really have the capacity to care much about others,  but are just trying to survive themselves.  Ahhhh!!!

Peace within and peace without is paramount to a zen-ful life.
Organization!  YES!!
Supportive, engaged and thoughtful care.
Nurturing each other and ourselves.

Community life has taken on many forms and many incarnations.
This is the best one yet!
Life just keeps getting better and better!

Mega eternal thanks to @quinneaker for holding space for radical change,
new awareness, implementation of upgraded realities,
and especially for eternal love that makes everything possible.
