Mutual Aid is Lit and Here's Why

in #communism7 years ago

Three companies own one factory each. Each factory employs ten people twelve hours a day to produce ten items every day. On the consumption side, there are ten people who each need one item every day. Therefore, thirty items are produced but only ten are used. In fact, it is likely than even fewer than ten items are used, as not everyone will be able to afford them. However, if currency and markets are eliminated, all thirty workers can work four hours a day in one factory to produce ten items a day without experiencing the lower standard of living which is caused by an increase in employment but not in production under a system of wage labor. Despite all this, capitalists still claim that their system is the most efficient and the most free. What none of them have ever explained to me, however, is how a system which somehow manages to overproduce and underprovide at the same time is efficient, or how longer working hours caused by unnecessary division of labor and production equate to greater freedom.
