In the world of “I Thought It Would Be Zombies...” if someone gets trolled, it’s literal... and very likely the victim doesn’t live to tell the tale!

Just a few work in progress screenshots tonight of my independent comic, as I start detailing a scene wherein our unusual heroes for the first time encounter one of these newly awakened incarnations of internet unpleasantry!

Hope you all are having a happy and troll free evening.

hey man, l am posting here too and can you tell me what l am doing wrong to not get any upvote?

Hey @aerozopher, good to "meet" you! First off, I like your stuff... it's good! So try not to take any lack of votes personally or to heart.

It may not be the best answer, or what you want to hear... but there's no substitute for time and activity. I've been on Steem consistently for over 2 and a half years, looks like this will be my 2855th post/comment. You're at only 27 post/comments currently. Every one of those comments is a chance for someone new to discover you. You've got to "play the numbers" and get out there more... but no spam! Time, quantity, and quality. That's the secret.

That being said, here's some other thoughts! It looks like you make good comments. Do that and more of it. Try to reply and engage with anyone who does comment on your posts and make good substantive comments and questions on posts you like. #1 way to get new followers and more votes. It worked on me. I'd not noticed your stuff before but you've got a new follower and potentially some more votes in the future now!

I can see you use SteepShot a lot, which I think is a really nicely designed Steem "front end" and enjoy as well. But be sure to branch out to other sites too! SteepShot actually has a very small user base right now, so you'll find much less stuff to comment on and interact with if you don't break out to a site that shows a lot more of what's going on on Steem. There are also new sites developing constantly. I have not personally experimented with this one at all yet, but seen a number of friends here using and enjoying it so it may be worth checking out yourself. An art focused Steem community; https://www.ntopaz.com
(edit - just after posting this comment I decided to start poking around nTopaz... it's pretty sweet! I'd definitely suggest checking it out yourself, I'll be sure to post a few things there in the near future.)

Many folks also accelerate their growth and have success by getting to know other Steemians in Discord chat groups and the like. That's also something I don't do a lot of... but for the highly motivated, it works. It's all about connecting with your "tribe" here.

Getting involved in a contest or two can be fun and a great way to get your name out there to some new audiences. I'd recommend keeping an eye out for a new Trial by Comics prompt run by @kommienezuspadt, or maybe some Steem Monsters fan art to appeal to that user base and get some new eyes your way.

Engagement is the key word. I have the usual personal sites, FaceBook pages, etc. and those get zero organic traction. Steem is small enough that it still feels tight knit and folks value interaction, but big enough that just like the big social media players, you can't simply post something and expect people to find it. Try to have some fun interacting with folks and building long term relationships. I've even gone on to meet a couple Steemians face to face and consider several folks on here real friends.

And in the end, the effect is cumulative. Votes tend to attract more votes whether it be because content sorting does get your work in front of more people, or more likely some folks are just trying to earn more curation rewards. I'd guarantee you that only a fraction of the 54 votes currently on this post are "genuine" in the sense that people actually saw it and liked it. And of those votes just a handful are contributing much monetary value. That also just comes with time and the quality of connections. There's quite a few folks in the #comics tag which I like to call home that are of the same mind to grow their Steem Power to help support each other, artistic projects, and the content created within the community.

It's still very early in the Steem game, but if you like the concept and see the potential, just keep grinding and it'll pay off in the end, be that financially or just in the personal and professional connections you may acquire.

If you have any more questions about Steem or anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to ask. I don't know everything but I've been around awhile and would be happy to assist.

Thank you SO MUCH for that elaborate answer. I will definitely start posting on ntopaz. I already realized and that steepshot is not as alive as I wished to. A pity, but I will start posting there and try to keep it up constantly.
It's true, I've not seen any replies until now, because I just logged in and was wondering what these new comments on my latest piece are.

I was less posting into #comics because it seems to be mainly such 3-4 panel comical comics and that's not really where I am with my works.

Thanks again, I will keep coming back at your reply while I decide how I will proceed with steem.

You’re very welcome! I’m happy to see it looks like you already got a bit more traction and interaction on your first couple nTopaz posts! Keep up the good work, you have some great art to share!

Oh this is a nasty looking troll and i see a lot of crazy details in the scetch:)

Glad you’re diggin’ it. I do have a lot of work to do, I do want to push myself to up my game in backgrounds & details and this big spread seems like a great page to do it on!

A double page?

Yessiree. I don’t recall ever doing a double spread before to be honest. Hopefully it’ll work out here!

I haven't done any either. Actually I kind of disliked them when I was a kid, because my perfectionism couldn't deal with lines being broken in the middle. But maybe I should consider it one day soon.

Yeah... I’ve been looking at this not sure if I like the troll’s exact placement due to how much of him falls into the crease. In a single issue “floppy” I think it’s fine... but a more square bound collection (I can only hope I achieve that one day!) it could be more problematic.

Great stuff! I love to see other people using Clip Studio too :)

Thank you! Despite its widespread use, Clip Studio still almost has a “hidden gem” status. I struggled for a long time with whether to move most of my workflow to Procreate instead, but Clip just keeps reeling me back in, it’s so feature rich.

Yeah I think the main reason is that Clip studio doesn't have a great layout out of the box and most people either don't want to or don't know how to customize the user interface.

A great and hilarous and folkloreish take on Trolls. Happy comic-ing in 2019!

Looks great and I always love social commentary.

@bryan-imhoff heyo, do you have any tips on posting art on here? how are you making it work? for me it feels like there is not much going on artwise here.

Hey @aerozopher. See reply above! (on Steemit that is...) I’m having a hard time seeing your comments through SteepShot and think you may be missing my replies on that front end too... Left you comment messages a couple different ways just now hoping something sneaks through!

Hey darling, I've missed some of your publications for so many things. ; (
if you mess with them, would you die? Hehehehheh
I would like to be friends with your troll, because that way I could send it to the government of my country, so that they take it out of the presidency.
