I have not been in NOLA for Mardi Gras. My only Mardi Gras celebration was in Porto, Portugal and it was cancelled during the middle of the parade when a ferocious squall blew in off the Atlantic! Thanks for the tip. You are so sweet!

ugh I have always wanted to visit New Orleans. the food, the architecture, the accent lol. and of course Mardi gras. It is one of my top list of places to visit.

I thought Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) marked the end of the celebrations (with things kicking off on Epiphany). Now it is all about lent - fasting and being religious in the lead up to Easter.

Wow fantastic costumes, I'd love to go to Mardi Gras one of theses days. It looks like so much fun. We have a thing in London but I doubt it has the same vibe.
New Orleans is an interesting city, for sure. Mobile Alabama would be a fun place to celebrate Mardi Gras, too.I was in Portugal once for Mardi Gras and loved it.
We really must visit the US again. It's been to long. My first trip there was in'79 so got a kind of anniversary next year.
I could retrace my journey.
I still have the map with the route I took. Hmmm!
