I took these last year when I was a vendor at the Opening & Closing ceremonies for this art installation. It was part The REDress Project by Metis Artist Jaime Black that was held at the University of Toronto.
These dresses are a sad reminder of the far too many Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women in Canada. The project is hoping to install 600 red dresses across Canada.
To learn more about the Artist and her work please google, REDress Project.
Thank You @kalemandra for setting up this #colorchallenge #photocontests
A sad reminder indeed!
Yes, very sad that we need projects like this but the world can be a scary place :( I'm glad there are public figures/artists that can bring awareness to these issues.
upvoted, also doing the #colorchallenge
bit of a spooky project like their ghosts are still around !
have a good monday, Nic
It was spooky seeing dresses just hanging in the trees then once you realize what it's for, becomes sad.
Thanks for the upvote. Have a great day as well!
