I couldn't miss an opportunity to post on my favorite color.
This lovely little plant is my two year old shamrock clover. I have a nack for botany and sense moving out of my family home, have accumulated a miniture jungle that resides in my living room.
I will likely use my silent friends as models for the #colorchallenge every thursday until I have ran out options.
You maybe didn't know this!
These clovers "sleep." As the sun falls out of reach and the chloroplast is no longer able to work its majic, the clover folds up into itself and waits patiently for the morning light.
Trifolium Repens is the scientific name for this plant.
Trifolium is a word that dirives from laten roots and means "three leaves."
It is a herbaceous perennial plant in the bean family Fabaceae. yup, beans like the ones in your garden. Ive tried eating them..Not as tasty as I hoped. I wouldn't recommend.
The four-leaf version is a rare variation or mutation of this clover and is therefore much harder to find. Which also why they are considered to hold good fortune.
The word "shamrock" originates from the age-old Irish word "seamrog." This word is translated in some cases to mean "summer plant," which makes sense because white clover is prolific in the summer months. You often see bees all over it. The name also comes from the Gaelic word to mean "little clover."
Any other botany lovers out there?
I will be doing more post outside of photo challenges explaining some of my practices that keep my plants happy and healthy. A good relationship ( yes, I do view it as a relationship) with greenery can provide you a source of positive, sychronized energy.
I do believe this to be important for the mental well being of our species.
Sneak peak: Living art. Sign of a modern home. What. How. Why.

Hey there, perfect #colorchallenge post. Have you gotten lucky and found a 4-leaf yet? I love the terrarium too, that is really nice.
Nooo... sadly I have not. haha I am sure it will be a momentus occation when I do, I'll be sure to make a post about it!
And thank you! I build terrariums for local restaurants and realtors in my area. I also do events where I teach people how to build them while we all drink wine and listen to music! It's pretty fun. I feel like people need to spend more time building things with thier hands and getting dirty. babesandplants.com if you want to check it out.
But no judging my websight, I just put it togther and I am not sure how I feel about it yet.. Might need to hire some help.
That is really cool, kinda like PaintNite, but making terrariums. Your website is nice, clean and open design.
Thank you, its a fun little side gig. A lot like plant night! Thank you!
