These little creatures come in all shapes and sizes and this one is no exception. This is a Cockerell's Nudibranch, Limacia cockerelli. A wonderful find on any dive these little sea slugs have beautifully coloured papillae (fleshy projections) all over their body. These "dew-drop" tipped appendages will vary in colour depending on the individuals diet but are most commonly a vibrant bright orange.
As will all nudibranchs, this species has retractable gills on its back and when photographing them you want to approach slowly and with care so that the animal doesn't retract its gills.
Happy snapping everyone and have a great day!
