Deep in the woods of Michigans Upper Penninsula the remains of an ancient cedar forest logged long ago still reside. Nature has worked for around 175 years to reclaim this stump but it's work is not done! That is a testament to the strength and sustainability of the cedar wood which is what made it a desirable candidate to be felled in the first place. Let us remember these fine trees and imagine what the forest once looked like. Let us also hope for the mighty cedars to reclaim their rightful place in this most humble of forests, may their beauty reign.
