Better late than never, here's Thursday's entry in @kalemandra's photography #colorchallenge. More information about the ongoing photography challenge-- as well as a number of re-steems of participants' work-- can also be found on the separate @colorchallenge Steemit page.
Today's topic/color is "Thursday Green."
Blooming green Cholla cactus, near Joshua Tree, California
Photos of flowers are pretty standard fare for this challenge, so I tried to do something slightly different-- an actual green flower, which is surprisingly uncommon.
This is a green Cholla cactus blossom taken while the desert was in bloom in the spring-- this is from near Joshua Tree, California. I hadn't seen a green bloom before... and it was quite striking, against almost pure white spines. Prickly beast, for sure!
Camera used: Fuji Finepix HS20EXR, portrait setting, 150mm equivalent zoom.
