One of the most magnificent geological features in the world is Mount Osansez in the Andes Mountains in Peru. The mountains are striped from turquoise color to lavender color, maroon color, gold color. However, this "painted mountain" requires several days of hiking to reach the apex of the Andes through Cusco and is famous for its difficult to discover.
A painted blue mountain is believed to be a god of Cusco by a local Peruvian and is considered sacred. It is a place of daily worship and service by local citizens. Every year thousands of Quechua pilgrims visit the Ausangin Mountains for the Star Snow Festival, which takes place one week before Corpus Christi's feast.
The mountain is 6,384 meters above sea level and is located about 100 kilometers southeast from the main city Cuzco. The local area is rich in geology, from uplifting granite cliffs to glaciers that eroded the Great Valley and Cretaceous limestone "forest" glaciers.
The Andes is an incredibly complex mountain range extending along the western end of the continental South American continent. The subduction of the Nazca plate beneath the South American plate caused mountain buildings and mountain ranges to rise. This resulted in significant volcanic activity, resulting in the introduction of a rare and diverse mineralogy to the Andes Mountains.
