You should get on the purple line on the MRT then, it's a MRT line AND has the views. Also, not many people get on that line (for now). Head to the second last stop (forgot its name) to go to Central Westgate and there is the new IKEA there. Just have a wonder around, see the showrooms and pick up a few accessories for your place (if you need to). 😊

I'm in a hotel, so no Ikea for me! I have not been on that line yet but I need to go one day soon :)

Ah ok! Lucky you, have you been in a hotel for all this time since you've been in Bangkok? You must have had a good rate to stay there over getting a rented apartment. Still it's interesting to explore different parts of Bangkok as we have been meaning to see your area (local market, don't worry, we still remember the invite). ;)

It's about 9500 thb including wifi and utilities. I run the ac all day so that is about 2000 of that :) I just l just like this neighborhood, so I pretty much stay here - inertia!

That's a great deal for the area that you are in and how you are maximizing on the utilities. Good find and no doubt - inertia! ;)

lol - I'm trying to get my mojo back! I pay about 1800 a month for electric. I need to get a fan and it would be cheaper.

Or do like everyone else does - hang out in malls, the malls have to have the A/C on all day and you save on your electricity bill. Though, it takes a lot of discipline to not spend on something when you're in the mall. Even going for a coffee for 30 days a month will cost more than 1,800 baht a month...so then it would have been better to stay at home with the air-con on. It's difficult, but if you do invest in a fan (just for the day time like we do) then it will be worth it.
