There was a headline on the DrudgeReport last week how realtors would be replaced with robots. Corporate America would love for you to think that realtors are simply obsolete. I have so many clients who search the web for properties only to have their heartbroken because they didn't get the right information. In Colorado there is really only one resource that can give you accurate information which is the public version of the multi list or also known as the MLS. Which is ReColorado.com The other 5000 or so websites out there are gathering their data from the MLS so why not go directly to the source. Most of the big-name websites out there have even prohibited realtors from putting in their own listings that may not be in the MLS. The majority of the websites out there are simply collecting revenues from realtors who advertise their name on the site. This is truly their only source of income so their objective is ultimately just to have you call one of their realtors that they have listed on the website. There is no revenue stream in listing properties as they are just collecting the data from the MLS system. In fact there is now a disclosure when the realtor places a property on the MLS letting them know that the information will be shared with other websites. So before you go wasting a lot of your time and find the perfect property that is already under contract, that sold last year or has an HOA fee of $600.00 a month. I suggest you take a chance on a realtor a real person someone who wants your business, wants to make you happy and usually will work very hard to do so. The average realtor only does about six deals a year. So believe me every deal counts and most realtors are really looking for the referral and the return business. Robots cannot replace realtors nor can websites. When you're out there looking to buy or sell you need another person who has the skills to discern the market and the will to get the job done!
