If your goal is mass adoption, I think it's being too pushy asking the user to keep their ETN app on 24/7. People don't want to do that. I find it extremely annoying and too much effort to keep the ETN app open day after day. And for a few cents per day?

Simply tap the button, and claim your free ETN. You want to get ETN in the hands of users, that's the goal. You don't need them to work for it. People will also look forward to claiming their ETN, rather than be worried that the app was closed accidentally, or stopped for whatever reason, and not to mention, drain their battery. They may forget about the ETN app completely and just uninstall after a while. I get that in Africa they find it worth it, but not here.

If you're going to distribute free ETN, but need the users to be somewhat active, what about a daily ETN claim button? It's simple, easy to use, and less frustrating, and will also increase retention. Claiming a bunch of ETN at once feels good, and makes it seem more valuable. It's also less annoying, and easier on the user. Display a notification each day telling them their ETN is ready to claim. Maybe add a 7-day streak bonus.
