Seven Coinmarketcap Alternatives To Check Cryptocurrency Prices

Coinmarketcap is pretty much the dominant website for checking cryptocurrency prices. They have more than 1,000 coins listed on their website and has become the go-to place for cryptocurrency traders.

The Coinmarketcap API is also used by many apps and websites around the world. That being said, there are other websites to check crypto prices.

Here are some of them. This article was taken from our own blog here.

1. World Coin Index

On first look, World Coin Index is quite similar to Coinmarketcap (as far as interface goes). They have a 7 day price chart as well. Most of the data is presented in a similar way, with a couple in different locations.

I think Coinmarketcap is still easier on the eyes as far as my personal opinion goes. Maybe it's the font choice.

World Coin Index comes with a dark mode as well, for night viewing.

2. Cryptocompare

alternative to coinmarketcap - cryptocompare

Cryptocompare looks neater in the interface. They don't put much information on the front page, but rather the necessary ones, i.e. price / chart / volume.

It's also a blog of some kind. They have their own articles, which differs from Coinmarketcap. The latter probably doesn't write any articles. They don't have to, considering how well they rank on Google and the amount of traffic they receive.

Cryptocompare on the other hand probably monetizes their sites from many affiliate links.

3. Coins.live

alternative to coinmarketcap

Coins.live is another Coinmarketcap alternative to check cryptocurrency prices, but this one is probably the simplest of them all. It's actually similar to Coinranking which will be mentioned later.

It only has 4 columns! The coin name, the market cap, the price (in fiat) and the 24 hours change in percentage. If you're the kind that only relies on the 4 columns when checking prices, then maybe this website is more suitable for you.

They probably don't write their own articles, but they do link to other websites. Sometimes simpler is better.

4. Cryptowatch

alternative to coinmarketcap

Cryptowatch is the most distinct out of all websites that will be mentioned in this article.

They make it bigger in the sense that you'll see individual charts of every coin and the price of the coin in the top 5 exchanges. This means it takes up a lot of screen space.

Personally, it may be harder to see all of the coins listed, but easier for you if you only care about a few coins at the top.

The good thing is that they list the top exchanges like Binance so you can compare the prices immediately.

5. ATHCoinIndex

cryptocurrency price checker other than coinmarketcap

ATHCoinIndex is unique in the sense that they actually display the ATH of a coin. ATH means all time high. For instance, Bitcoin's ATH was about $20,000.

They display a coin's ATH beside its current price for comparison.

They also have the date when the coin hit its all time high. It seems like they have found a niche for themselves. If you're into such columns, then do check it out.

6. Prices.org

From the image above, Prices.org clearly has a lot of information on their front page. They put all kinds of data for you to see.

If you prefer websites that lists a lot of information, then maybe it suits you. If you want something simpler, then maybe Coins.live or Coinranking is more suitable for you.

7. Coinranking

coinmarketcap alternatives

Coinranking is similar to Coins.live as far as simplicity and interface goes.

Only 4 columns, i.e. coin name, price, market cap and the 24 hours change in percentage.

If all you need are those information then this website might be suitable for you as an alternative to Coinmarketcap.

There are many alternatives to Coinmarketcap these days. Use a price checker that suits you the best.

That's a nice list

I find livecoinwatch.com to be really good, although they are a little slow in keeping up with new coin additions on exchanges.

Thanks. I think i still prefer coinmarketcap (too used to it).

Thanks for sharing mate. Before now, I only knew 3 out of these 7.
