Coinbase.com reported to be the largest Bitcoin exchange service in the world for converting bitcoin into fiat has recently been inundated with complaints from the Bitcoin community for a number of different reasons including but not limited to closing and freezing accounts, affiliates reward abuse, filing patents on open-source technology in an attempt to gain control of certain benefits and features of the technology that should remain open-source, very cozy relationship with traditional banking with top investors like BBVA and one of the founding members Fred Ersham having very close ties with Goldman Sachs as a former trader in it's securities division and now Coinbase has announced that it will start tracking how users spend their Bitcoins, the list goes on and on...
Coinbase is certainly not heading in the same direction as most members of the Bitcoin community and as a matter of fact Coinbase is starting to closely resemble PayPal in many ways, so if you are a true Bitcoiner this is not what you signed up for, I have put together a list of alternatives to Coinbase and these alternatives are much easier to deal with and they are dedicated to moving Bitcoin in the right direction away from the traditional banking and towards the original principals and core concepts introduced by Satoshi Nakamoto...

Bad Idea to hold a good chunk anywhere but a paper wallet you control.
oh yes for sure. cold storage. but what i do have on the internet.. coinbase has for the most part been used as my big wallet.. that should definitely change before the pressure of the halving is upon us.
Coin mixing can help with them tracking your bitcoins. Problem solved.
