Coffee plantations that have been developed in the year 1908 apparently thrives in the region of central Aceh, Gayo Lues.

Currently in Aceh there are two types of coffee cultivated, Arabica and Robusta coffee. The two types of coffee are Gayo coffee and uleekareng coffee. Arabica coffee is generally cultivated in the highlands "Gayo Land", Central Aceh, and Gayo Lues. Arabica coffee is large and dark green, the leaves are oval, and the height of the tree can reach seven meters.

The original taste of Gayo coffee is found in the aroma of fragrant coffee and a savory flavor almost not bitter. Some even think that the taste of Gayo coffee exceeds the taste Blue Mountain coffee from Jamaica. Gayo coffee is produced from smallholder plantations in the highlands of Gayo, Central Aceh, Indonesia.

In this area, the plants are planted in an organic way without chemicals so this is the result also known as green coffee (environmentally friendly). Gayo coffee is called coffee organic best in the world.
