I'm getting close to halfway through udacity's course on how to make an android app.
Before today, was there two reasons I stopped the course. First, time. I was building an apartment, and the due date was coming close, so I stopped being on the computer, thus making me stop.
Secon, motivation. I had used a lot of hours on the course and didn't feel like it was going anywhere.
Both of those are eliminated now. I don't have access to the apartment and it feels like I'm learning something. I'm enjoying the course and can see a bigger picture of why they did as they did.
Quik line of how it works
First, they introduce the fundamentals, with awkward videos of a man and woman making bad jokes. One of the smart things they have done is making a simulator in the web browser, which makes it easier to start since you don't have to download anything. On the other side, this was what made it boring for me, only changing some code in the browser not making anything. So now that I have downloaded the Android Studios program, the fun came back. Now I'm making an app start on my phone, and I see a clear improvement of skill.
Vacation
I'm an election and work from 7-15. Today my 2-week vacation started. This puts a lot of time in my hand and gives me time to code. As long as I don't fall asleep in my chair again, as I did today. I got plenty of time to code. The weekends will be filled with other activities, so I'm not sure I will post anything then. If I find the time, there will be a post up, but I will see.
