Well it has been a bit since my last post but I haven't really been doing much - except for squeezing shitloads of lemons.
With all this fresh lemon juice the choice was clear - lemonade. But don't stop there. I also made a cucumber vodka - super easy. Finally I made a honey simple syrup to go sweeten it all.
Mow the Lawn a.k.a. Cucumber Lemonade
- 2 oz. Cucumber infused vodka
- 1.25 oz. Honey simple syrup (any sweetner will do)
- 2 oz. of fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 dash of Peychauds Bitters
Short shake all ingredients and strain on new ice in a pint glass
Garnish with one mint leaf
To make the Cucumber vodka start with one liter of mid-level vodka and one cucumber cut in slices with about 3/4 of it peeled. Put the slices in a pitcher with the vodka and refrigerate it covered for about two day. Cucumber takes really well so two days should be plenty but... you know .. taste it as you go. Strain it back into the bottle with a funnel and boom.
Notes
Double strain the juice to get the pulp out
Agave syrup works just as well
Bitters are optional
Enjoy
