Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, lives in such a group. They have no land, no houses, no money, no work, no place, and can only live next to the train road and build a small and short shack in a place less than five meters from the rail. A couple of families live in such a few square meters of life -- this is the slums in Dhaka.
When I first came to the slums, I was shocked by what I saw before. It seems to me that there is no place to live at all. The old house is not old enough to say that the distance from the rail is too close. Every five minutes, ten minutes, a train passes by, the roaring sound is deafening, the houses are shaking, and the dust coming is suffocating.
The tracks are full of garbage, and the stench makes people unable to breathe. People live on both sides of the track, selling fish, selling ducks, cooking, walking, and children playing on the rails... Everything is so full of life, as if the track does not exist. It was only a passing train that drove people to wake up.
The children of the slums spent their childhood in the garbage dump, although they were all dirty, but the children had a bright smile and the children were very beautiful. When we see the visitors from us, they will soon get in contact with us and see that we are holding cameras, they will be happy to face the camera, and even show us their skills - such as somersault and inverted.
Although we feel the sincerity and kindness of the slums and the pleasure of life, we have to worry about their existence, and the basic life of the people is not guaranteed, and the health and education are even more difficult to talk about, especially the security problem. Although the locals are accustomed to living with the train, tragedy still happens. It is really hoped that the government of Bangladesh will be able to pay attention to the homeless people and provide them with the most basic guarantee of survival, and not to live like the status quo.
I hope that with the economic development of Bangladesh, their lives will be improved at an early date, and the days when they move out of the slums and live with normal people.
