That too, I guess. I was thinking though, that chemicals came first - Hydrogen and its friends - and physics is an explanation of what happens when those chemicals act or react. Meanwhile, biology is about what happens when carbon or silicon form life? :-D
Physics is more like how the elements are originated. Nowadays, computational chemistry make use a lot of quantum calculations which is based on quantum physics.
Like the microscope development, i know that quite a number of astrophysics eventually get in to working in microscope development as they are actually highly correlated.
Some how, physics-chemistry-biology could be seen as a whole unit to me ~
