首先，為大家帶來一幅香港獨有的景象——搭棚。搭棚是一種傳統的建築技術，簡而言之就是用竹棚築成臨時平台，主要用以維修樓宇工程，不過另外亦有以竹搭成戲棚作節慶之用。搭棚技術緣於中國古代，儘管搭棚節儉方便，不過隨着時代發展，世界各地都改以其他更先進的金屬棚架，甚至香港近年都逐漸轉用金屬棚，湊巧早前看到對面樓宇正在搭棚，彷彿看見年代的嘆息。

而搭棚，更令我想起這些無名英雄為香港繁榮進步所帶來的貢獻。

現在我們處於繁華都市，燈火昌明，一切似乎來得理所當然，不過在繁華背後，香港如何由當初一個小小的漁港發展至今，卻是有賴一眾無名英雄。

至今，香港人或許過於安逸，竟然渴望颱風為大家帶來假期；每當風暴來臨之際，總會聽聞不少棚架被風吹倒，消防、救護四出拯救市民，試問有多少人懂得為他們擔憂呢？每當香港發生工業意外之時，始會有人關注勞工保障，然而在紙醉金迷的世界中，大家又能留下多少記憶呢？

We are living in the modern society and seldom think about the workers. Hong Kong is so safe that some Hongkongers even wish the typhoon comes for a single holiday, whereas forget the enormous effort in which the workers have put.

興許，在未來，香港再也不會看見竹棚，搭棚業自六十年代伴隨香港興起，將來卻會隨着科技發展而流逝。歲月流轉，竹棚難有立錐之地，留下的唯有盼望。

In the future, we may not see any more scaffolding in Hong Kong. Bamboo scaffolding have raised with Hong Kong and will fallen with the rise of Hong Kong.
