Chinese New Year Lion Dancers - Unknown Stuntman

in #cn7 years ago

A week after Chinese New Year and you will definitely still here thundering drums roaring around town and houses with fireworks all week long. It's an amazing event of the year where you see Lion Dancers dazzle the crowds with their multi talented stunts and skills.

These stunts and skills takes months of intense training and practice before the actual event. I can definitely bet you that these practices does come with bruises and broken bones. These talented youngsters don't do this for fame and fortune...maybe a little bit of income...but they do this just to make the crowd go ...'aaawwwww...oooohhhh...yeeeeahhhh!'. Just by having the crowd cheer for them is enough to make them feel that everything is worth it.

The basic thing about the lion dancers is that the tail end of the lion must be stronger or bigger that the one holding the head. This gives better leverage when lifting the person holding the head and do some amazing stunts. Unfortunately, accidents do happen. Sometimes its just wrong timing or wrong step, imagine running on stilts with just enough room for your foot to step on. Sometimes though...its mother nature, strong winds do effect the Lion Dancers performance and does cause accidents and injuries.

Some Failed Stunts (Source - Youtube)

We did saw one unfortunate stunt gone wrong where the wind was quite strong and the Lion Dancers fell to the grown. No serious injury though, but he was still rushed to the hospital to check his condition.

This is to SALUTE those brave performers and stuntman, you really do give your best performance always. Where ever you are, in mainland China, Japan or Korea..young and old we appreciate what you do...'Xie Xie' (Thank You).

Woff, woff!

Hello @keithmontallana, Nice to meet you!

I'm a guide dog living in KR community. I can see that you want to contribute to KR community and communicate with other Korean Steemians. I really appreciate it and I'd be more than happy to help.

KR tag is used mainly by Koreans, but we give warm welcome to anyone who wish to use it. I'm here to give you some advice so that your post can be viewed by many more Koreans. I'm a guide dog after all and that's what I do!

Tips:

  • If you're not comfortable to write in Korean, I highly recommend you write your post in English rather than using Google Translate.
Unfortunately, Google Translate is terrible at translating English into Korean. You may think you wrote in perfect Korean, but what KR Steemians read is gibberish. Sorry, even Koreans can't understand your post written in Google-Translated Korean.
  • So, here's what might happen afterward. Your Google-Translated post might be mistaken as a spam so that whales could downvote your post. Yikes! I hope that wouldn't happen to you.
  • If your post is not relevant to Korea, not even vaguely, but you still use KR tag, Whales could think it as a spam and downvote your post. Double yikes!
  • If your post is somebody else's work(that is, plagiarism), then you'll definitely get downvotes.
  • If you keep abusing tags, you may be considered as a spammer. It may result to put you into the blacklist. Oops!

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Steemit without getting downvotes. Because Steemit is a wonderful place. See? Korean Steemians are kind enough to raise a guide dog(that's me) to help you!

Woff, woff! 🐶
