The way I see it, the Mid-Autumn Festival has the most important Chinese festival in China (as opposed to Chinese New Year), which can be tracked back since the time of the "Tang Dynasty". The day on which it falls changes from year to year depending on the lunar calendar. It is also a time of year that the moon is at its brightest.
