This is the most scenic place in China - I would rather see it preserved. However, people need to live and people who has the money and want to live in a scenic place will ironically destroy what they wanted.

Yes, unless you go somewhere out of your comfort zone without too much research and experience the surprises - good and bad.
Just like coming here and making friends and sometimes adversaries.
You live in a place that many would dream about, for scenery's sake, but if they ever get there, they could be too old or the place changed too much for the worse.
