Counter Life in NTU Library(PART 2)/

In yesterday's post, I've introduced my work content of access controlling, and today's post is about my counter life of circulation service!

For part-time workers like me, the work content of circulation service only involves borrowing and returning collections of the library, and dealing with reserved books. Actually there are more complex works for normal librarians to do.

In general, works of circulation service are simple for us, but when encountering midterm of final test, there must be a mess. Students would borrow and return books constantly all the time, line a long queue and ask all kinds of questions. We sometimes even consider ourselves fell into the hell of books, especially when we actually also have our own exams and reports to complete. It's really exhausting.

Sometimes there are some "little pleasure" during the work, and what I love the most is that I can check the books returned by readers and borrow them directly if I get interested in them. I usually don't know which book to choose when I stand in front of the big book shelves, but the books returned by readers to some extent show their readability. Through this process, I have already discovered lots of appealing Chinese and English novels, and these books illuminated my life with their charming magic.

No matter being in the counter of gate or circulation service, meeting a lot of different people is unavoidable. We learn how to get along with strangers, offer appropriate services, and keep a calm but warm heart in this job. Although we may occasionally encounter frustration, but we still learn to embrace it and grow up. We all love NTU Library deeply, and create beautiful memories here together.

At last I want to say,
"Welcome to National Taiwan University Library!"
