Water management applications and market potential

in #climate7 years ago

In recent years, also as a result of climate change, the issue of a correct and efficient management of the water resource is becoming more and more pressing, which, correctly, is increasingly considered a precious and "scarce" good. The theme of water management involves a variety of subjects (authorities for electricity, gas and the water system) who, for various reasons, must contribute to reducing waste and implement techniques for saving water and energy associated with it.

In the first edition of the Water Management report, starting from a general overview of the amount of water and water consumption worldwide will focus on the analysis of withdrawals, consumption and waste water in the context, highlighting in particular the civil and industrial sectors. With this in mind, the main changes introduced by the current regulations on water resources, the management discipline will also be analysed.

The main industrial sectors for water consumption will therefore be described For each sector, the main technologies associated with the water uses described above will also be indicated and the degree of use / maturity of water-intensive technologies for each industrial sector will be shown. On the basis of this framework, an analysis of the opportunities for water and energy efficiency will be presented, also evaluating the economic advantage. Finally, we will show some examples of the use of water by industrial subjects to minimize wastewater in water-intensive processes and phases.

In conclusion, the theoretical market potential of Water Management will be shown both at the water network level and in some cases of Industry-Technology-Process coupling. It will also show the market potential connected to Water Management.
