I used a screwdriver because I forgot to buy carving tools and I bought some Play-doh.
I have always loved sculpting but I haven't sculpted in a long long time but it's great to start again.
The challenge this time is to mold our
Favorite cartoon character
Now I've watched transformers cartoons and movies and I love robots, machines and even considered taking up a course for college related to machines before in highschool.

Well, here it is! In the process of making this I kept telling myself "this is so hard" cause the clay is so soft? Haha I read about the contest yesterday and me and my brother @vocafrost immediately wanted to join! Please feel free to comment and critique! ๐จTitle: Optimus Prime ๐จMedium: Modeling Clay ๐จMaterials: Clay, screw driver, clean sheet of paper, reference โณDuration: 2-3 hours Incase any of you are wondering, I could not sculpt the whole body for a number of reasons We add, not subtract Here I add layers to make a whole, we mold this way. Just a little subtraction later on for reshaping and details. I used yellow clay instead of white to emphasize light and also to add color variation. Do your best Jacinta! You can mix some colors to make a few gradations so you'll have more options on different shades if you plan on making one.

๐จWhat did I do here?
I initially made an egg shape or oval of the face then I added pieces of clay and layering them.
Leonardo da Vinci used a big block of marble and started and chiseled it into the Pieta. Some sculptures work that way

This clay is super easy to mold and you just rub it and the surface smoothens and its easy to stick and join parts together.
๐จKeep going
You can opt to buy a clay which is harder so its more moldable into angular shapes and doesn't flatten easily.
Thankfully the canons were sturdy, almost killed me.
They fell after a few hours but it's okay.
I put it inside a model box. This box by the way was given to me by my ever so thoughtful bestie @fukumineko ๐ท

Your work and your write up is perfect! I can see that you really take time to construct your posts. I have to say that this is truly exceptional! The details are so intricate but perfectly assembled to create that 3 dimensional effect. You are really good at this!
I agree with having modelling/molding clay if you want to create a big pieve or one which really stands on its own. Some people even use polymer clay and bake it. Others make it using flour. I guess yours is also another medium.

I have a bumble bee toy.
I made a clay Cat boy. It was tricky.
I am 3 years old, my mum helped me a little bit.
I was supposed to make bumble bee but optimus looked better but i love em both.
