During my trip to Bangkok last month, I was fortunate enough to spend a noon at Lumpini Park, which is located in the heart of Bangkok. The park, surrounded by hotels and business buildings, is 142-acre large and an oasis Source. A street across, the hustle and bustle of Bangkok is no stranger to you. In sharp contrast to the busy street scene, once you set your steps in the park, you can get away from it all in no time and totally immense yourself into tranquility and nature for a while.
Hustle and bustle is just outside of the park, huge contrast, ehh?
The park is surrounded by man-made architectures
Walking up the park, a plenty of leafy and lush trees is ahead awaiting your enjoyment
A small pond, which is a peaceful habitat for some frogs and fish
The park is also a natural habitat for creatures like this little gecko
There is always a place for birds too
The pigeon enjoys his/her peaceful moment and wanders around the grass
What fruit are they? Guava, I guess?
Taking a nap under the natural shade is always a nice thing to do in a lazy afternoon
No air-conditioning needed, natural afternoon breezes can cool you off pleasantly and be a great friend putting you to sleep
Anything can be better than chit-chatting like this?
Perhaps just a rest under the tree, this is perfectly alright.
Eye-catching, isn't it?
They might have been there for a some time and witnessed things in and out of the park
A vintage bench it is.
Love these banana leaves.
My brief reflection on the park: You are in search of Hermes bags? or lavish tailor-made suits at Savile Row? or piles of money?
A simple life with loved ones is way important than anything else; going to the park, enjoying the nature and the quietness, and chit-chatting. This doesn't need to be extravagant.

Thanks @aaronli for hosting this weekly city story competition.
Overall a very well maintained green park, except the rusty benches..

Your closing comment is so true. You always hear people wanting to get away from the city, but never the reverse. Being out in nature, even a small park, recharges our soul.
Don’t miss this park if you happen to be in Bangkok, worth a go.
Thanks for taking us along with you! I love the pictures of the pond, gecko, fruit and those beautiful red flowers :)
Thanks :-)
