  • A gloomy future, polluted Earth

  • an evil leader, poor but justice

  • a thrilling action, moving

  • poetic justice, what goes around comes around

Space Sweepers = Victory-ho (Korean)

Year 2092

The earth was ruined and all hope disappeared with the green plants.

The earth was covered with dense fine dust that had to wear gas masks all the time.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, James Sullivan, 152, of UTS, a space development company, creates an artificial natural world in satellite orbit.

But only the chosen can go up there.

The gap between rich and poor and the capitalist class society was also applied to the qualifications for survival.

"Victory-ho" is a spaceship that collects "space junk" that is a problem because it is too numerous and sells it to UTS as junk to maintain its life.

He is a talented celebrity in this field.

The crew of Victory-ho, each with its own past situation, are fighting for their past and future.

But all that comes back is mounting debts.

(A gloomy society like this in 2092...)

One day, when money and debt were struggling, "Dorothy," which will fulfill the dream of becoming a big hit, will appear in Victory-ho.

Dorothy, known as a children's robot with a built-in hydrogen bomb made by the terrorist group Black Fox.

The crew of Victory-ho, who is supposed to report to UTS as soon as they find it, plans to sell 'Dorothy' to the Black Fox Group!

Stop here.!

There's nothing to eat at a famous feast?

Usually, if the cast of the movie is too colorful, there is a fear that it will become a "famous feast house," but in "Victory-ho," the performers' acting was well mixed with each other.

That's a relief, there's something to eat.

Song Joong-ki shows a slightly different performance from his image so far, and it seems to see how he is reborn as an "actual power" actor in "Handsome actor."

Kim Tae-ri's voice sounded awkward, but... This person's original voice is like this.

I think the main character in 'Victory-ho' is Yoo Hae-jin who plays the role of a robot.

In particular, it is amazing that Yoo Hae-jin's way of speaking, as well as his voice, is applied to the robot.

As the robot's characters came to life, they became large enough to threaten the main actors like Girasung.

(As expected, great actors spread this much presence just by their voice acting.)

Actor Yoo Hae-jin plays the voice of the robot Uppdong.

Homodeus and the Millennium Falcon seen in the Victory-ho.

UTS CEO James Sullivan, 152 years old, must have done something to his body with his dream of immortality.

Perhaps he overcame aging and death by using nanorobots." (In some scenes, veins pop out and look strange.)

This is what we talked about in "Homodius (Book)" by Yuval Harari.

(The way he delivers the announcement to the residents of the paradise he created with a huge hologram gives off a strong nuance of deification.)
winho31.jpg

There is another scene that reminds me of the book 'Homodius.'

Dr. Kang Hyun-woo, who injected nanorobots into "Kkotnim" before he died.
("Kkotnim" is the daughter of Dr. Kang Hyun-woo.)

These nanorobots save the 'flower nim'.

As expected, I remembered 'Homodius.'

Of course, "Longevity," "Nano Robot," and "Bulsa" are not unique to Harari (author Homodius).

Furthermore, Victory-ho is reminiscent of Star Wars' "Millennium Falcon."

Flight attendants are similar.

Captain Hansol of Falcon always suffered financial difficulties.

Common denominator of SF films

I don't know who's daydreaming about the future belongs to, but there's something called "gyeol," which is similar to everyone.

The film 'Seungri-ho' faithfully follows the common denominator.

It is stable (=comfortable) because it follows faithfully, but it seems to have been seen a lot somewhere because it follows faithfully.

The "common denominator" of the SF film is a double-edged sword, so the decision must be up to the director.

In 'Victory-ho' he chose a stable direction.

About 20 years ago, I thought, "There are many different genres of foreign dramas and movies, but why are all Korean dramas and movies about love and family?"

Times have changed now, and not long ago, a Korean zombie movie was released.

Great! A variety of things!

I cheer for the sci-fi movie 'Victory-ho'

made in Korea.

Sort:

I watched this movie 3days ago and my feelings are extremely mixed. Movie is predictable, not challenging intelectually, characters are obvious and not to complicated, and these fart jokes... However special effects are great and story is told smoothly and there is a lot of gloomy futuristic details I liked. Scraping trash satellites, water is expensive, polluted environment. And big plus for multilingual dialoges!

Fun movies always make us happy. Thank you for reading my writing.

Good review mate. By the way, you need to properly source the images you use..
