Guys..
Lately there a hot isue talking about the internet that Pope Francis said in one of his homes that atheists (who do not believe in God) can enter heaven, as long as they do good. Thus the question arises, does the Pope teach that salvation can be obtained through good works without faith?
It is important that in order to know the true meaning of the Pope, we need to look at the context of his homily, since the common quotes distributed on the internet are just a few sentences, which if not examined earlier, then it can be misunderstood and this seems to be the case. Thus the quoted sentence:
“The root of this possibility of doing good – that we all have – is in creation…. We must meet one another doing good… ‘But I don’t believe, Father, I am an atheist!’ But do good: we will meet one another there.”
Now, let's look at some quotes from Pope Francis in connection with the Gospel explanation of Mark 9: 38-40:
The disciples, Pope Francis explains, “were a little intolerant,” closed off by the idea of possessing the truth, convinced that “those who do not have the truth, cannot do good.”
“This was wrong . . . Jesus broadens the horizon.” Pope Francis said, “The root of this possibility of doing good – that we all have – is in creation.”
However base on my opinion on some quote above it's the way of chucrh on their efort to keep balancing of cristian and atheist could walk together and make them kept acceptable from people, and this is absolutly clear that is christian are the religion that come from man made.
