...Or for yourself if you don't have faith in your significant other that he/she will get the hints you've been dropping since LAST Christmas...
A few hints for you - and where to get them (mostly).
A weekend free of everything! That's right - every distraction, responsibility, chore and excuse - a weekend in a remote hotel - just like Stephen King's Overlook Hotel to do nothing but write (But seriously, don't book your beloved writer into a haunted, cursed hotel unless they need inspiration for their next horror novel - and even then, it may not be the best idea).
Don't like the cost of some of the gifts? Then give them something you've worked on just for them! Scour the internet for book agents, literary agents and publishers that are working in the same field and make a list (check it twice). Arrange it neatly and print it out. Put the list in a large file where the information can be kept safe and added to if necessary and wrap the file for them to open on Christmas day. I can almost guarantee that will be well-received!
Your Writer loves books - right? Find out which is their favourite and see about getting a first-edition print - or a later edition print if it gets insanely expensive. After all, it's the thought that counts!
Books like these (below) are invaluable for the Writer that's serious about getting published. Though the books cannot guarantee success, they can give you advice on where to go looking for the contacts - agents and publishers.
My personal favourite?
This!
Oh and last but not least - alcohol! Plenty of it to help with the creative process - trust me, it works. Just make sure the writing is done while under the influence of alcohol, not the editing.
Nice..keep up.the good work
