The best gift I have ever received is a little blue cabinet with handpainted roses on it from my stepfather when I was about eleven.
It was an important moment in our relationship because it just deepened extremely after him giving me this cabinet.
He told me had painted it himself which I obviously TOTALLY believed because I was an innocent child and he is a very creative man.
But when I was about 24 years old (a whole 13 years later) he told me that he HADN'T painted it himself.
All these years, I was lied to! ;)

I still treasure my cabinet very much and it's one of the only possessions I have!
