My Christmas πŸŽ„

Family, Friends & Food

How was your Christmas?

Mine was awesome. I managed to switch off completely for the first time this year and just enjoy the analogue world with family and family friends. 90% of the time we were awake, we were eating and chatting loudly. There were children and young adults around too so there was a lot of noise and breaking of things haha. Good times.

Goes without saying that we didn't get a white christmas haha. They didn't even have one in parts of Canada, judging by the video call with some of my family over there, so the 10ΒΊC temperatures here in the UK seemed acceptable.

I took a quick walk up the road at night on the 25th and, I have to say, things have really changed over the years. As recently as 2 decades ago absolutely everything was shut down for Christmas. This year about 20% of the businesses were open normally; fast food places, local grocery shops and so on. There were a few people out and about as well. I understand that there a many people that don't celebrate this festival, but it does take a little away from the magic of the time.

Naturally essential workers like police officers, emergency medical staff and bus drivers don't get the time off anyway. They hardly get any time off at all unless planned well in advance. Shout out to those guys.

Peace & Love,

Adé

Ours was nice too with all the family. Played games and did puzzles between meals and walks. Hardly any TV. The weather has been really mild, but there may be snow next week.

Enjoy a !BEER

I thought it might snow last week, it was freezing.. but it suddenly went mild. I like snow (in the beginning), but then the slushy frozen stuff is what I don't like :D

The whole arrangement seems to be changing - most of my christmas celebrations took place in the first half of the month, one on the 3rd December! By Christmas itself, it was like the whole place was bored. The city centre was very quiet and the shops seemed be starting to deconstruct all their Christmas things, no shopping for a last minute tree this year!

Glad you had a good time, though! πŸŽ„

I don't know what the hurry is to be honest. I was at Asda today and they already put up all the Valentine's Day stuff πŸ˜„

We had a nice Christmas as well and it's kind of still going. Our youngest son isn't arriving until tonight so the festivities are kind of starting again. So basically, there is little work happening :D Looks to be similar for the New Years week the difference being that we have a New Years Eve wedding so...that should be fun.

Oh nice. I love an extended festive time haha. Enjoy

Very nice pictures, I'm glad you were able to enjoy in present time with your family. I send you a big hug
