Some of you probably already guessed or knew where this was going. I'm going to disclose the identity of The Mother of Harlots described in Revelations and Zechariah 5. This will take several post, that will go progressively deeper. Here is a depiction from the Roman church, of "Lady Fides", who is their symbol of the Catholic faith. She is ALWAYS depicted holding a cup.
Now, There are 3 Babylons in the Bible. Literal geographical Babylon, Mystery Babylon, and Daughter Babylon, and they rise in this order. I will show you who is who. Anyone who follows the church line of "God made the bible so easy to understand, that a child could read it" is ignoring, or is ignorant of the words of Yashua, who said the opposite.
“And the disciples came, and said unto Him, Why do you speak unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto YOU to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but unto them it is NOT given.” Matt 13:10-11
“And when He was alone, they that were about Him with the twelve asked of Him the parable. And He said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God, but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables. That seeing they may see, and not perceived: and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted and their sins should be forgiven them. And He said unto them, Know ye not this parable? And how then will you know all parables?” Mark 4:10-13
“All these things spoke Jesus unto the multitude in PARABLES; and without a parable spoke He not unto them.” Matt 13:34
“But without a PARABLE spoke He not unto them…” Mark 4:34
“This PARABLE spoke Jesus unto them; but they understood not what things they were which He spoke unto them.” John 10:6
The Bible is word of God, and therefore the same things apply to it. He dosen't just give us the answers to the test. He makes us ASK for them.
One of the things I have asked myself when I have attended churches in the past, was about some of the antics and whether they actually use their weekly worship moment to learn and understand Gods word, or whether they are there for a show. There is so much to be missed when we don't focus our attention to truly understanding the implications of scripture, and better understanding the law. I must admit I fall short by miles, but giving in isn't an option.
Excellent observation. A lot of so-called pastors spend 20 minutes of their 30 minute sermon telling entertaining stories and trying to convince you to keep tithing. They will read one or two verses and take them totally out of context by not reading the verses that proceed or follow.
They pray in public, something Yashua explicitly said NOT to do.
They encourage spiritual laziness by telling us that as long as we "believe in Jesus" it's all good.
If you truly believe in Yashua, then you will have to do what he commanded. Not to say that you will never fall short, but honestly, most of us don't even try.
Public prayer always had a weird feel to it for me. Christ was very clear on this and by following his example, I don't sense what it has become is wrong in the evil sense, but it is definitely not as he would do.
