It took only 24hrs of social media pressure for Joel Olsteen to open his Lakewood Church for the residents of Houston in need of shelter. What a beautiful time to be alive. Well done :)

Keeping it closed was costing him money. Bet he's not out volunteering to help people who are in trouble.

Im not a proponent or follower of Osteen at all, but I believe most of the hype and media attention that was pointed in his direction was undeserved. From what I understand, the church did have flooding, but was never actually closed to anyone.
It is good the church is helping the community now, though.
