It had been several months since that autumn day when the Lord had brought her to her knees with the realization of how desperately she needed Him. For years she’d been numbing herself by escaping into fairytales. An endless onslaught of entertainment and amusements to keep her mind off the misery and pain of her failing struggle of a life. Her situation had been deteriorating so rapidly, had seemed so hopeless, it would have taken a miracle of God to reverse the tide she was drowning under. And that’s exactly what happened.
His light pierced through the darkness that was drowning her. She had spent so long ignoring the conviction His Holy Spirit was pulling her with. Finally she surrendered. At last she gave up running away from the One she needed most and ran straight to Him, with tears, confessing she‘d been so wayward, and with a humble plea for mercy.
That night when the couch became an altar where she knelt and prayed the prayer of a prodigal child. The weeping, the remorse over sin. The determination to pick up her cross and follow. It was so raw and real and almost too much for a limited human mind and for human emotions to handle. The realness. The reality. After years of trying to avoid that very thing - reality. Now it was upon her in a way she’d never before encountered. The atmosphere was different. It was no longer heavy and oppressive.
There was catharsis in this room as she continued to weep and pour out her heart to Jesus. And His presence was so real. She couldn’t see Him, but He was surely there, just as real as the tears on her cheeks and the air in her lungs.
There was so much beauty in this moment. This raw moment of surrender. This moment of complete vulnerability, a heart wide open, wounded as it was, and the Great Physician was beginning a complex surgery on it. This was when the healing began. This was when hope was restored and life truly began.
what you just read is a 'snapshot' from my life, an event that really happened, and it's part of my Testimony. More will come in the coming days as I have time to write. In the mean time, thank you for reading and God bless.

Very powerful testimony. You are gifted to write @redeemed . Keep strong in the LORD dear friend. The surgery will be painful but He is the best surgeon in the world. And the restoration will beyond you can imagine.
