IS THE JESUS YOU WORSHIP KNOCKING AT THE DOOR OF EVERY HUMAN HEART?
The 'god' of the normal ostensible 'Christian' isn't the Sovereign King of the universe who "hath leniency on whom He will and solidifies who He will"! [Rom 9:18] He is a feeble weak 'god' who is helpless before the gathered relentless 'unrestrained choice' of man!
There is a recognizable painting which delineates the Lord Jesus remaining at an entryway and thumping. Much ado is made of the way that this 'entryway' has no handle or handle outwardly . . . inferring that it is inside!
I have heard more than one Arminian evangelist utilize this artistic creation as an outline to beg heathens to 'get spared'! "Have you seen" says the untaught evangelist, "that the craftsman has intentionally excluded painting a handle to the entryway. What's more, why would that be? Since, my companions, this is the entryway of the human heart. Also, the handle to this entryway is just within, and it is YOU who must open this entryway and let Jesus into your heart" yakkity yak!
Truly?
In all actuality, that the entryway on which Jesus is thumping is the entryway of the human heart, the Bible abandons us without any questions as to WHICH SIDE of the entryway the handle is set and WHO it is that opens that entryway.
Talking about Lydia the vender of purple who reacted to Paul's proclaiming and was spared, it is composed, "THE LORD OPENED her heart to regard the things talked by Paul" [Acts 16:14].
What's more, by chance when the Lord of greatness chooses to enter through any 'entryway', He needs no handle or handle to open it! He is the Mighty God who "softens up pieces the doors of metal, and cuts in sunder the bars of iron"! [Isa 45:2]. He is the Great Jehovah who that hath the 'key of David', Who openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth"! [Rev 3:7]
As said the Psalmist –
"Lift up your heads, O ye entryways; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting entryways; and the King of wonderfulness might come in. Who is this King of magnificence? The LORD STRONG AND MIGHTY, the LORD forceful in fight"! [Psalm 24:7,8]
Furthermore, for the individuals who are new to the confidence, please comprehend that regardless of whether the representation of the canvas above was valid and it was in fact the Lord who remained there 'thumping and arguing' to be let in . . . He would need to remain there and 'thump' away forever!
Do you know why?
Since FALLEN MAN IS SPIRITUALLY DEAD AND STONE DEAF TO THE VOICE OF GOD!
Unless God sovereignly 'opens' his profound ears, man can neither hear not get the things of the soul!
God has His picked FEW whom He calls His Elect, His Sheep, His Little ones, His Little run and so on . . . furthermore, these and THESE ALONE are GIVEN ears to hear and a heart to comprehend (Matt 13:11) and are 'MADE WILLING' in the Day of His energy! [Psalm 110:3]
THIS is the God we accept and serve! THIS is the God who hath spared us! What's more, to THIS SOVEREIGN GOD should be ALL THE GLORY AND PRAISE!
Glory be!
"The "god" of this twentieth century no more takes after the Supreme Sovereign of Holy Writ than does the diminish flashing of a light the eminence of the early afternoon sun!
The "god" who is presently discussed in the normal podium, talked about in the customary Sunday School, said in a great part of the religious writing of the day, and lectured in a large portion of the supposed Bible Conferences is the fabrication of human creative ability, an innovation of silly nostalgia.
The barbarian outside of the pale of Christendom frame "divine beings" out of wood and stone, while the a huge number of pagan inside Christendom fabricate a "divine being" out of their own animalistic personality. In all actuality, they are yet nonbelievers, for there is no other conceivable option between a completely incomparable God, and no God by any means. A "divine being" whose will is opposed, whose plans are disappointed, whose design is checkmated, has no title to Deity, thus a long way from being a fit protest of love, merits nothing however disdain" [A.W. Pink]
The words in Rev 3:20 are the expressions of our Lord, tended to not to unbelievers but rather to professors in the Church of Laodicea. To cite this verse in an interest to 'win the lost' for Christ deceives our obliviousness as well as our visual deficiency
