Earlier on in the late nineties prior to the much talked about Millenia, a Nigerian preacher Reverend Mbok Nagode Salachi founded an orphanage to care for the homeless children of Dingisuwayo. One day when Father Salachi desperately needed funds to carry on his work, lo and behold a destitute Pagan widow who lives near by came to door of his orphanage asking for Shishi, a silver coin inherited from the colonial masters, although outmoded but still useful for exchanges because there are collectors who still value it and are ready to offer handsome amount for it. Now because of Father Salachi's financial situation, he politely but regretfully told her he doesn't have it and so could not help her.
Dejected and disheartened, the old widow began to lament and suddenly started weeping. Moved by her tears and obvious distress, Father Salachi asked her to wait while he went to his room to think about how to get out of this mess. Suddenly something told him to pray over the situation. After seeking for God's guidance, he felt that he should give whatever he wants to the old widow waiting outside.
So, trusting God to meet his own needs, he gave her what she asked for.

Three days later at the evening hours, he received a letter of thanks from the pagan widow. She confessed that because of his generous kindness she had prayed that his orphanage be visited and be showered with gifts. The proceeding day in the afternoon Father Salachi received 50 thousand dollars from a wealthy Oil mogul Pampata, as well as 5 thousand dollars from one of the foreign non governmental organization that he had written earlier to regarding his financial situation.

Father Salachi thought he had been more than rewarded for helping the pagan widow, but that was just a tip of the ice big, soon he was informed that the orphanage was going to receive 1000 gold pieces Premier Golden Club, a multinational company who's CEO was a one time resident of Dingisuwayo and a distant relation of Father Salachi.
On hearing this, Father Salachi knelt down in obeisance and wept in gratitude to the almighty.

Lesson

By simply praying and sacrificially providing for that destitute widow, he had been enriched, not impoverished, not hungered nor saddened.

Therefore, we should create the habit of giving. Sometimes it doesn't have to be in thousands, even if what you give is in tens, you will never know what help you are rendering to someone out there. Remember to always proceed your givings with prayers in your heart like father Salachi did, you will never know who you are giving to, but God whose eyes are never shut nor his ears too far sees and hears us all the time.

Knowing that you put a smile on someone's face makes you happy and you experience inner joy and peace. In giving, we sow seeds which later turn out to be a great harvest. Giving opens great doors of blessings which we sometimes never expected. It is true that the GIVER NEVER LACKS. "cast thy bread upon the waters and after many days you will find it. It all comes back in the end.

Ride on pastor.

Givers never lack. He that gives to the poor lends to the lord Prov 19:17
