@creatr God created us not as artifacts but to be more like him. He made us gods here on earth.
It is also his plan that all men be saved, hence he sent his Son. The Bible is replete with information in the New Testament of how much God loves us.

    Perhaps you've misunderstood. The word "artifact" simply means a created thing. My point is that we owe our existence to God, and that he has legitimate and complete authority over us.
    God sent his Son, not to save all men, but to save those who would believe and abide in him:

    "If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned."
    - John 15:6
