While I agree that the offer is open and extended to everyone, the bible is quite clear that only those whom the Father draws will come to Jesus:

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day."
- John 6:44

This is because Jesus did not die for everyone. Jesus died for his sheep.

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
- John 10:11

2 Cor 5:15
And that he died for all, that they which live should not from now on live to themselves, but to him which died for them, and rose again.

Of course, he died for all - but not all take the gift of salvation. So, in that, it is a choice anyone is free to make.

So, Jesus died for all that lose their lives to find salvation, take up their cross and follow Him.

An exclusive club, indeed. The path to the entrance is narrow, and not many will find it.
