Now, before you continue reading this blog, can you pause a bit and think about the kinds of relationship you keep.

Then ask yourself this questions:

  • Do I have friends that share similar values with me?
  • Do I move with friends with same interest and goals?
  • Do I keep relationships that affect me positively or negatively?
  • Have I been moving with friends who can stretch and motivate me?
  • Do I associate with people who are more exposed in value and experience and who are ready to propel me to the next level?

Pro 12:26
"The righteous choose their friends carefully,
but the way of the wicked leads them astray."

That scriptures teaches us that making friends is one thing, but choosing who your friends are is extremely important because your friends are your guides in life as well as the people who help define who you are and that includes your family. Some friends are closer to you than others, but who you choose to share important parts of your life with matters.

Find people who will fuel your dreams, and help you to attain greatness. Don't be a one-eyed man in the company of the blind. Be with people who inspire you consistently. The people you associate with have a major impact and influence on your personal success. You can tell where most people are going to end up in life simply based on who they associate with. It's very obvious your income level is the same as that of your closest pals, same as your moral life and mental reasoning. If it isn't, it's just a matter of time, it will...

That's why it's important you choose your association right. Few suggestion below:

  1. You can be God's friend: Now, there's no better companion than your MAKER. Only Him has the blueprint of your life in His hands.

  2. Associate Higher: spend time with friends who can expose you to greater opportunity, who can fuel your dreams, who can inspire you. People who are higher than you in level, more experience than you, richer than you. You'll soon find yourself on the same level with them. That's if you are ready to learn.

  3. Make friends with people who hunger for knowledge: Here, are people who might necessary not be in the same level as you, but are willing to learn and have strong desire to always advance in life. You will be a positive impact in their lives. People like this will not pull you down but help you become better in what you do or who you are.

  4. Choose association with similar values and beliefs as yours.

  5. Make friends with people who can stretch, encourage and motivate you.

  6. Choose friends that will always tell you the truth about you. If you are wrong they will tell you and as well celebrate your success.

  7. Go for loyal friends, people who are ready to laugh with you when you are happy and wipe with you when you are sad. People who are your blanket when you are cold. People who understands that your life is meaningful, who are ready to sacrifice all to see you succeed.

In conclusion, make sure you value your relationships... Don't be the negative influence in the relationship and as well don't sit with companions that will destroy your life and dreams.

My simple advice for you is this, make responsible decisions regarding the alliances you forge and the relationships whose influence you inhale.
