Finding The Treasure Buried in God’s Word
By Butch Dias 04/29/2018
As I kid I spent many times looking for treasure. It was always exciting. Where I grew up on Little Bay there was an old wooden boat on an island. We would swim or take our boat there. We searched high and low and always had fun. Never ever found any buried treasure but worked diligently to see. After many years of searching I found out that the best place to find treasure is in my Bible. There is always something in there. I call them my “Golden Nuggets.”
Hebrews 4:12 KJV says, “For the Word of God is powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” The Word of God is alive and active. It is not like reading a newspaper or a book; it is God’s love letter to us. Did you ever read a love letter from someone that loved you with all their heart? The words seem to come alive and touch your heart. The Bible is alive with “Golden Nuggets” to touch your heart for everything you are going through. It comes right from the heart of God. The more you will dig, the more you will find in His Word. I wish someone would have taught me this a long time ago. I was about 33 years old when I started to search the Bible. It was life changing. I read the Bible from cover to cover in 4.5 months. I even read and studied the maps in the back of the book.
When you read God’s Word the word will come to you alive as a nugget of gold or as I say, a “Golden Nugget.” It will be more valuable than a nugget of gold. It can even change your life eternally. These nuggets are deposited in the word of God from His heart and the throne room of heaven. We just have to keep seeking and searching in his Word with all our hearts. We must be tenacious like a pit-bull and never give up. We must be like the early pioneers who discovered this great land of ours. It is time to get out of the boat and seek these uncharted waters of God’s word.
We must dig down deep like our lives are depending on it. Colossians 2:(2-3) KJV says, “ That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” God has deposited something in His word today for you. Seek Him in His word today. There is treasure in there for you to find. Are you willing? Are you ready to take the challenge? It will be exciting. Please let me know if you if you do. I wish you blessings to you on your new venture. Treasure hunting in God’s word is exciting and fun. I love challenges. Blessings. Bd.
